Ramie Chuene confirms exit from The Queen.

It is the end of the road for T-Gom and Mzansi Magic’s flagship soapie, The Queen. Ramie Chuene, who plays the role of Gracious Mabuza, has confirmed on Sunday that she is set to leave the soapie soon.

A Sunday newspaper reported that Chuene’s contract was not renewed in what is believed to be a purge after Chuene publicly expressed support for embattled Vatiswa Ndara who made headlines late last year for demanding what she termed as “better remuneration” as a prerequisite  before she could agree to shoot Igazi season 3.

Chuene confirmed her exit on Twitter. “Yes, T-GOM’s stint on #TheQueenMzansi has come to an end. Unfortunately, I won’t be getting into details as advised by my legal team.

“I still have to finish shooting and I’m hoping to execute as excellently, exceptionally and professionally as I always have. #TGOMNATION forever,” she wrote.

In another tweet on the same subject, Chuene sub-tweeted Vatiswa Ndara who earlier commented on news of possible T-Gom’s exit. “I hate you (Vatiswa). Now here I am, laying next to the remains of your career,” (sic) she said jokingly.

Another actress on the soapie, Motsoaledi Setumo who plays the role of Mmabatho is also reported to have tendered her resignation, although it could not be established whether or not her exit is linked to T-Gomgate.

Chuene joined The Queen in 2017 after she embarked on a massive successful 10 000 retweets drive.

Aredifefere says: When you come across a statement in which people say, “my legal team has advised me not to comment on the issue,” just know there is drama behind the scenes.

Is Mohale marrying Somizi for his money?

South Africans seem to concern themselves too much in Somizi and Mohale’s love affairs. It seems many people have concluded in their minds that Mohale Motaung is marrying Somizi Mhlongo because the former is “in it to secure the bag,” as they put it on social media.

It is not my place to convince people how they should or shouldn’t think; and neither is it my place to say whether Mohale is “in it to secure the bag” or not. This because I don’t know what is in Mohlale’s head; nor do I know his intentions about his relationship. I can only speculate that people marry for good reasons and Mohale is no exception.

Critics of Mohale argue that the 25 year old model and entrepreneur seems less interested and disengaged in his relationship with 47 year old entertainment powerhouse, Somgaga as he’s affectionately known in the showbiz circles.

One thing that is clear is that Mohale is a complete opposite of what Somizi is in terms of their personalities. Somgaga is forward, loud, flexile, jolly, cracks jokes and can easily make friends.

Mohale, by contrast, strikes me as an introverted someone. He is quiet and reserved. Or maybe I’m making excuses for him. Am I? One of the concerns that I have picked up is that people expect Mohale to match Somizi’s personality and energy. The minute Mohale lacks behind, people are quick to jump in and say “look, he didn’t even smile. He didn’t dance. This boy is stiff. He doesn’t love Somizi. He’s in it for the bag.”

Our biggest dilemma we are confronted with as a society today is that we have traded off our African philosophy of Ubuntu for instant fame of ‘likes’ and ‘retweets’ on Twitter. People will say and do whatever it takes, regardless of who gets hurt in the process, as long as their posts gain traction on social media.

Mohale is unfortunately the victim of such emerging phenomenon; especially because he is dating a powerful household name such as Somizi. Often than not he has to deal with people telling him with authoritative voice that he doesn’t love his husband, except his money. Exactly how these people know what is in Mohale’s mind, remains a mystery to me.

Makhadzi cries foul: My manager is not paying me!

Barely a week after winning the song of the year title in various radio stations across Limpopo, the Venda queen, Makhadzi real name Ndivhudzannyi Decorate Ralivhona, has made shocking allegations against her manager, Rita Dee that she’s either not paying her after performances or pays much later.

Makhadzi, in a lengthy emotional Facebook post, alleged that her manager either switches off her phone or not picks up her calls when it’s time for payments.

“I wanted to buy something today. I waited, promised the seller that I will pay in hours’ time because I know my manager used to switch off her phone but she will soon get back to me.

“No need to get a new manager. I need her, she needs me. She just needs to change how she manages her things when it comes to finances.

“They say Facebook doesn’t solve problems but sometimes it can heal our hearts because now I’m in pain and I have no one to talk to.

“I am crying alone because they switch off their phones. They don’t want to update me as to why I’m not receiving my money.

“I must just wait for them when they feel like giving me money. If I need to buy something, I must just wait for them to send at their own time,” Makhadzi said in her post.

The matorokisi hit maker further updated her fans that she has been receiving calls from people telling her that her manager, Rita Dee made utterances that she picked her up from the streets.

“So must I die from a heart attack because I was supposedly picked up from the streets? She must just change how she does things so that life can continue as normal,” Makhadzi wrote in Tshivenda.

This is a developing stories. I will update it as more details start trickling in.

Lethabo Mathato is shaking up the industry.

When Lethabo Mathato, affectionately known as Lejoy to many of her fans, left SABC regional radio station, Thobela FM about a year ago, many have wondered if the Limpopo diva has reached her career cul-de-sac in the entertainment industry.

About one or two months later, Lejoy made a comeback into the radio industry, this time joining Limpopo’s leading commercial station, Capricorn FM.

While her fans thought they could breathe a sigh of relief over her return into the entertainment industry, Lejoy, when everyone least expected it, dropped a bombshell, she announced her resignation from Capricorn FM barely a month after joining the station.

People wondered what she was up to, with many throwing in conspiracy theories about her exit from two radio stations in less than three months.

Little did we know that Lejoy had secured the bag and the Seshego born entertainment guru was about to vava voom the Friday night prime time slot and dominate our tweeter feeds.

Modimo! We were never ready. Real House Wives of Johannesburg Seasons 2 is on fire and if adding petrol into a raging fire was a person, Lejoy would be the one.

As Twitter will have it, Lejoy’s drama is the content they have signed up for and an episode without her is a waste of time and energy. Lejoy became people’s instant favourite and her strong and unapologetic personality that lights up every room she walks into and commands attention has found favour in many people.

Her remarks are not to be missed. We are madly in love with her Sepedi. Ke gore bona, sisters came prepared and we are loving every minute of it. At this rate, she’s cruising nicely into the meme’s terrain. She’s up there, kua godimo, malekelekeng.

Lejoy recently took to Twitter to thank Bonang Matheba for having graced her with gifts.

“I can’t get over the fact that the queen herself @bonang_m sent me flowers and champopolopo @houseofbng on reunion day. Thank you so much queen B. The message in this card says a lot and means the world to me. Cheer!,” Lejoy said.

The said message read, “Dear Lethabo, congratulations on an amazing season of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg. Thank you for bringing your unapologetic strength of character on T.V screens and homes. Enjoy the Reunion. With love from Bonang xz.”

Makhadzi and Master KG: Are they dating?

Makhadzi wa vho rine or Makhadzi wa vho Master KG? That’s the question that everyone is asking, is Makhadzi and Master KG playing funky-linky-pinky-under-blanky? Are the two Limpopo song birds whispering romantic sounds in each other’s ears?

For those who don’t know, let me contextualise the whole story for you. 31st of December 2019 saw Makhadzi’s smash hit, Matorokisi rising above all of Mzansi’s favourite songs to take over the song of the year title in various radio stations in Limpopo.

Understandably, the Venda queen was excited. She couldn’t believe it. At some point she shed tears of joy. On the 2nd of January she took to Facebook to thank her fans for support and also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the producers of the song, DJ Call Me and Mr K2.

Then followed the controversial line in which Master KG was tagged, “…not forgetting my boyfriend Master KG SA who always push me not to give up giving people good music. (love emoji) congratulations to you too,” (sic) Makhadzi wrote.

It was this line that left tongues wagging with many people asking if Master KG and Makhadzi are rubbing shoulders between the sheets.

Soon thereafter, Facebook detectives started doing the Lord’s work. Files started creeping out of the closet. Pictures of Makhadzi kissing Master KG on the cheek started doing rounds with many people asserting that the visuals support Makhadzi’s post.

The two have since kept mum, neither confirming nor denying the allegations thus creating a room for further speculations.

Early in December during an interview on Phalaphala FM, Makhadzi said that she was single thus not dating anyone, adding that relationships of these days are complicated. She added that she was enjoying life like everyone else, followed by huge chuckles.
