Tilo ngwana Rashaka Mokgopo
A year has 52 weeks in which a lot of things can be done or said in our favourite soapies. You know that certain storylines are a hit if you still have a vivid memory of what happened months thereafter.
Among other events that took place on our screens, Mr TV Police still remembers the much talked about wedding celebration of Suffocate (Mduduzi Tshabalala) and Nikkie (Nolo Phiri) on Rhythm City.
He remembers with excitement the time of sesi Thifhelimbilu and Mama (Brenda Mukwevho) on Muvhango. Brenda (who is now a director at Rhythm City) is a performer of a distinct style. Give her any role; she will nail it, Just like Tsholofelo Monedi. It was by no mistake her collaboration with sesi Fheli was a perfect one. Splendid!
MJ jumps into bed with Dineo on Generations. Shhh! Wait. Let me explain myself here. Mr TV Police still has a vivid memory of Anga Makubalo (MJ) confessing his strong feelings for fellow actor, Katlego Danke on Zaziwa. Real life, real feelings. Here, I’m using ‘jumps into bed’ to signal the work relationship the two had. Who would forget Dineo conspiring with MJ to bring the mighty S’busiso down? Well, they won. Temporarily.
Eish! And troublesome psychotic Nompumelelo ‘Lelo’ Mthiyane stalked and tortured Zamo. The storyline did not have the Muvhango’s Ndalamo (Lesley Musina) and ancestors’ Morvite instant porridge effect. It ran for few weeks on our small screens; which was good and appeared to be persuasive. It wasn’t long before MaNtuli ‘100%’ came short to jumping into the burning house in a bid to safe her helpless son.
The concepts of these storylines were well executed. However, let’s move along swiftly to story ‘lines.’ Mr TV Police thinks that Wallet (Molefi Monaisa) is the number one actor in South Africa who got the best lines in 2014. See for yourself below.
