Generations’ Noluntu and Muvhango’s Meme deserve to win.

Generations' Noluntu and Muvhango's Meme deserve to win.

One of the two, between villain Noluntu Memela of Generations and Mamello Kotsokoane of Muvhango deserves to win the “outstanding female Villain” category at the Royalty Soapie awards pioneered by Generations actress, Winnie Modise, says Tilo ngwana Rashaka.
When I first read that Tsholofelo Monedi has been nominated for the awards, I jumped up and down with unprecedented excitement, making a hullabaloo loud enough to wake the dead, while shouting “yeah! Finally, she’s nominated.”

It’s not a secret that Tsholofelo Monedi is my number one favourite actress in South Africa, and arguably, she’s the best actress (followed by Joyce Skefu) Muvhango has ever produced since the show’s inception in 1997.

Since she started portraying the role of scheming and manipulating Meme on Muvhango, many have forgotten that she is not the original cast. Prior to Tsholofelo portraying the role of Meme, Pontsho Mokoena was playing the part of Meme.

But because of her exceptional, outstanding talent, Tsholofelo Monedi has won the hearts of millions of South Africa with some of her memorable story lines include, KK-Meme abuse, manipulating Thandaza and Pheko, singing at jazz lounge and many others.

On the other hand, Zenande Mfenyane was not my favourite because she was (overly) great at portraying Noluntu Memela. I started warming up and realizing her true talent when Noluntu resorted to drugging Mawande. Wow! what a talent. She won my complete support and her mean and cold attitude secured her the second position in my favourite list after Tsholofelo Monedi.

Maybe I must admit, I like villains. That’s why Liteboho Molise who’s also nominated for “outstanding newcomer” category is my favourite and her on set arch rival is my least favourite.

Whether people consent to it or not, Zenande Mfenyane is great at what she does and we love to hate the character she portrays. If it was up to me, from the bottom of my heart, I would really like too see Tsholofelo Monedi winning the award but after having considered many different factors, I would say Zenande Mfenyane should win this award. Yes, I endorse Zenande to win the award.
