Zahara LOLIWE wayidudula.

Zahara LOLIWE wayidudula.

By Mokgopo Tilo.
In 2011, it was Zahara this, Zahara that. From waking up in the morning to going back to bed at night, people were playing Loliwe. You would swear that Loliwe was taking over as the country’s newest national anthem and through Loliwe, South Africa had found its sense of identity. I’m sure even small kids who started learning how to speak around the Loliwe hype the first word they uttered was “Loliwe.” This is how serious the Eastern Cape born song bird took the country by storm.
Let’s face it; Loliwe is still the hit even today. People, me included, still listen to Zahara’s album. There’s something special about the album and the anointing seems not to be fading away anytime soon, or never. Loliwe launched Zahara and elevated her from nobody to Africa’s music giant. The hit track made Zahara scoop countless Metro and SAMA awards.
As such, Tilo deems it crucial to outsource Loliwe Lyrics so that you may be able to chorus with understanding about what Zahara sings about.
“Loliwe”
(with English Translation)
uLoliwe wayidudula [“the train is pushing”]
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
Nang’esiza [“here it comes”]
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
Nang’esiza

Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu [“wipe those tears off, loved one”]
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Nang’esiza
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Nang’esiza

uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
Nang’esiza
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
Nang’esiza

Phezulu, eNkosini [“in Heaven, in the Lord”]
Kuhlal ‘ingcwele zodwa [“lives only the holy”]
Mawufuna ukuya khona, thandaza [“if you want to go there, pray”]
Phezulu, eNkosini
Kuhlal ‘ingcwele zodwa
Mawufuna ukuya khona, thandaza

uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
Nang’esiza
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
uLoliwe wayidudula
Nang’esiza

Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Nang’esiza
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
Sul’ezonyembezi mntakwethu
