Her Royal Highness: Limpopo born Singing sensation, Pleasure Maja (now Peta) is no stranger to the country’s wedding industry.
Since she premiered in the entertainment lime light almost a decade ago, Pleasure has raised above all the other artists to be at the helm of the industry.
Her debut, Setagwa, released in Septermber 2005, launched her solo career and she has since been releasing hits after hits. From the early days of her musical career, to date, Pleasure has always put her thousands fans on their toes, yearning for more from her.
In the eight years she has been in the industry, she has grown from being “that woman who sings wedding song for the Limpopo people.” Today, her music is widely celebrated in provinces such as; inter alia, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West and Free State.
Even though competition mounts up as each day passes by, but by the look of things, thus far Pleasure enjoys the complete monopoly of being the widely celebrated manyalo artist in the country.
From different kinds of functions to radio stations, both in and outside her home province, Limpopo, Pleasure music receives an immense amount of airplay.
Her recent release, Pleasure vol 6, Banyadi, has served to consolidate what a great artist she is, and the quality beats and mesmerising voice make the album a quality product to behold.
As with any other albums, people will always have their favourite tracks and one particular song, Laela, has become the people’s obvious choice from vol 6.
Some of her blast from the past include: Sekgametse, Lefotwana, Mekgolokwane (mohweleretshipi), Sebodu, Lesedi, Moipone, Dipolelo (Mamgobozi), and Protection order, among others.
One of the things that can be seen as a real achievement for her is that she still has three lead female dancers whom she had from her first album. Seasoned dancers Pheladi Thamaga, Dimakatso Kgaditsi and Mokete Mphahlele are still very much part of her music and their dance moves add rhythm and enhance the beauty of her music.
3 things to know about her:
- She produces Wedding Girls and Makometsane, giving people a variety of choices to buy and book from.
- She mentors another aspiring artist, Pit Tlaila.
- Pleasuretainment and Music projects is her stable.
